St Vincent de Paul
St John's Regional Conference
Mission Statement
"A network of friends, inspired by Gospel values, growing in holiness and building a more just world through personal relationships and service to people in need."
History of the our Conference
St. John's Regional Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society (SVdP) had its beginnings at St. John the Evangelist Church in Frederick, Maryland in 1993. The mission of the organization was to render assistance to those neighbors in need who requested our aid. Through the efforts of the pastor of St. John’s with the work of several dedicated volunteers, the Conference has expanded to help meet the growing needs of our neighbors in the community and now all of Frederick County.
Five Catholic parishes support the conference:
-
St. John the Evangelist, Frederick
-
St. Katharine Drexel, Frederick
-
St. Peter the Apostle, Libertytown
-
St. Joseph-on-Carrollton Manor, Buckeystown
-
St. Ignatius of Loyola, Ijamsville
Main Efforts
Members of the St. John's Regional Conference reach out to many hundreds of residents each year. Our funding comes from generous contributions to the poor boxes at the member churches. We receive supplementary contributions from individuals and from bequests. We are able to distribute nearly 100% of the contributions to aid our neighbors in need.

Neighbors in need can contact us by phone or email for information and inquiries, but must come to our office for financial assistance, We listen to them and provide financial assistance when possible and within our criteria We also can refer to other appropriate agencies.
